Orfa Visser produces small, medium and large-sized series of axial fan casings by special flanging and bell mouth machines. Diameters from 315 mm to 2400 mm are feasible in aluminium, steel and stainless steel. These possibilities allow for countless different types to be made. Working in-house, we can even provide the fan casings with attachment points, for suspension of the motor/fan, with either a fixed or an adjustable motor support. The implementation of these motor support(s) is customized.
Orfa Visser produces axial fan casings for high and low pressure, directly driven, or with a belt drive for industrial fans, blowers, short tubular fans, long tubular fans, belt-driven axial fans and axial fans with integrated inlet cone. In collaboration with our partner we can also arrange thermal galvanizing for you.
The order of processing:
It all starts with the size cutting or laser-cutting of the plates. After that the fan casings are rolled and welded by a seam welding machine. The welding beads are ground off by hand or by a robotized process. Flanges or bell mouths are made for the housings by a flanging machine. These steps may be followed by laser cutting and the edging of plate material for the fabrication of motor supports, which are welded in the housings manually or by robots.
Great accuracy:
During the deformation, the fan casings are fixed in a special jig, which retains the round shape. This means the flange or bell mouth can be maded with the greatest accuracy. Experience has taught us, that the weld is not damaged by the flanging.
The position and the number of holes are applied with great precision in the correct pitch circle. The machines are computer driven, which means that both the movement of the flanging rollers and the operation of the punch unit can be repeated time after time in a very exact way. This results in perfect product uniformity.

Thermal galvanisation
In collaboration with our partner, who specializes in the thermal galvanization of steel in accordance with NEN-EN-ISO-1461, we offer thermal galvanization of fan housings after construction. By thermal galvanization the fan casings become durably protected against extreme circumstances. Axial fans are designed to work in the most extreme circumstances and are used in situations and places where a great deal of air must be displaced at low pressure. The fans become resistant to very high or low temperatures, corrosion, explosions and corrosive or polluting substances. After galvanization our fans meet the highest quality requirements.
The galvanizing process
Thermal galvanization is relatively simple: after degreasing, applying an adhesive and fluxing, the steel materials are immersed in a zinc bath with liquid zinc at 450 ºC. The zinc coating that attaches to the material alloys with the steel (zinc alloying) through which an indissoluble coating is created. Galvanized materials are extremely durable, maintenance-free and provided with unique protection.
Customization
Besides an extensive range of standard products, we can also provide you with tailor-made solutions, such as fan casings with special suspension, inspection hatches, protective caps, grills and gauze. The engineering department at Orfa Visser plays an important role in this. In dialogue with you, they develop new types of fan casings. To this, our enginers use specially designed software and they also profit of their many years of experience in the design of fan casings.

Orfa Visser has standard tooling available for the production of inlet rims. We also do work for third parties with these tooling. For inlet rims you can choose from different diameters ranging from Ø144 to Ø1150 mm. Orfa Visser makes inlet rims in aluminium, steel and stainless steel. Copper and brass are also available on request. If we do not have available the size you need, we can make tooling for you. For this usually highly specialistic work, we have or own tool-making department and a computerized storage facility, where we keep the tooling belonging to our clients. If required we can even make inlet rims up to a diameter of over two metres for you.
